Creating Message Templates

You can create message templates if you have the default Administrator role or a custom role that includes the MANAGE_ALL_MESSAGE_TEMPLATES permission.

To create a message template: 

  1. Go to Configuration > Message Templates.
  2. Click Create.
    The Creating New Message Template panel appears.
  3. Enter a Name for this template.
  4. Optionally, enter a brief Description for this template.
  5. In the Template field, enter the message contents that you want in this template.
  6. Click Submit.

To create an email template:

  1. Go to Configuration > Message Templates.
  2. Click Create.
    The Creating New Message Template panel appears.
  3. Enter a Name for this template.
  4. Optionally, enter a brief Description for this template.
  5. For Channels, select Email.
  6. For Type, select either Rich Text or Plain Text.

    Rich Text enables you to apply formatting to the text. If you don't need to apply formatting, select Plain Text.

  7. In the Template field, enter the message contents that you want in this template.

    If you are creating a Rich Text template, you can use the available formatting options:

    • B: Bold
    • I: Italics
    • H3: Heading 3
    • U: Underline
    • : Numbered or Ordered List (1, 2, 3...)
    • : Insert Image
    • </>: Toggle HTML, which enables you to enter the template in HTML
  8. Click Submit.
