Filtering Dashboards in Historical Reporting

Filtering enables you to narrow down the data that you want to analyze. Custom dashboards contain three levels of filtering:

Global Filters

Global filters enable you to filter any chart on the tab that uses the same data set. If you have charts from different analyses but the each analysis uses the same data set, these filters apply to all of those charts.

To set global filters:

  1. Next to the tab's name (New Tab, by default), click the gear ().
  2. Click Add Global Filters.
  3. Select the values for Filter Column, Comparison, and Value.

See Configuring Local and Global Dashboard Filters in Historical Reporting for more information on the configuration options for each.

  4. Click Add.

Local Filters

Local enable you to filter a specific panel on a dashboard. If the chart appears on multiple times on the same tab or on other tabs in the same dashboard, the filtering applies only to the chart where you are currently adding the filter.

To set local filters:

  1. In the top right corner of the chart, click the gear ().
  2. Click Filter.
  3. Select the values for Filter Column, Comparison, and Value.

See Configuring Local and Global Dashboard Filters in Historical Reporting for more information on the configuration options for each.

  4. Click Add.
