Adding and Removing Texts and Images on Dashboards in Historical Reporting

You can add images and text to your dashboards by adding panels from the Visual Gallery. Image panels can add branding such as a logo or a campaign visual to a dashboard. Text panels can display information such as instructions for data interpretation of a chart or an explanation of a KPI.

When you create a new dashboard, or when you change tab settings, the Visual Gallery shows options to add a text panel or an image panel. Alternatively, you can add panels directly in the dashboard panel.

To add a text or image panel to a dashboard:

  1. Select the dashboard to add the panel, click Settings () next to the tab name.
  2. Click Add from Visual Gallery.

    The Visual Gallery opens and shows all available charts, tables, crosstabs, and panels.

     The Add Text Panel and Add Image Panel are listed near the bottom of the Visual Gallery.
  3. Locate the Panel Type (Image or Text) to add.

    Optionally, use the Find search to add the image or text panel.

    Find: Enter a search term and press Enter.

    Find searches the name. It does not search the panel description.

  4. Click Add next to any panels that you want to add the dashboard.
  5. Click Done to close the Visual Gallery window and return to the dashboard tab.

Adding Text to a Text Panel

You can edit the text panel directly in the dashboard panel.

To add text to a text panel on a dashboard:

  1. Click Settings () next to the text panel and select the Edit menu option. The Edit window shows the options available to add text to the panel.
  2. Enter the text panel values:
    • Title: Enter or edit the title for the text that will display centered above the text.
    • Text: Enter or edit the text to show in the Text Panel.
    • Footer: Enter or edit the text to be displayed at the bottom of the Text Panel.
  1. Click Done to close the Edit window and return to the dashboard tab.

  2. To rename the Image Panel, click Settings () next to the text panel and select the Rename menu option and replace the Image Panel text.

Adding Images to an Image Panel

You can add images to the Image Panel directly in the dashboard.

To add an image to an image panel:

  1. Click Settings () next to the image panel and select the Edit menu option. The Edit window shows the options available to add and format the image.
  2. Enter the image panel values:

    • Image URL: Enter the complete URL of the image location.
    • Width: Optionally, specify the width of the image. The default is in pixels. To size the image to a percentage of the panel use the % at the end of the value you enter.
    • Height: Optionally, specify the height of the image. The default is in pixels. To size the image to a percentage of the panel use the % at the end of the value you enter.
    • Image Text: Optionally, enter a brief description for this image to display below the image.

  3. To rename the Image Panel click Settings () next to the image panel and select the Rename menu option, replace the Image Panel text.

Removing Texts and Images from Dashboard Panels

Text and Image Panels can be removed from the dashboard using the Remove Widget control on the panel itself.

To remove a text or image panel from a dashboard:

  1. On the text or image panel that you want to remove, click Settings ().
  2. Click Remove Widget.
  3. On the confirmation message, click OK.
