Customizing an Email Template
You can customize an email template if you have the default Administrator role or a custom role that includes the USER_MANAGEMENT_EMAIL_UPDATE permission.
To customize an email template:
- Go to Configuration > Email Templates.
- Select the email template you want to customize.
The side panel appears, displaying the default template. This is the template that is inherited from the platform or the parent tenant. Notice that the template's fields can't be edited. - From the Email drop-down menu, select Custom Email.
- Update the following fields:
- Use the Shared slider to enable or disable sharing of this custom template. If you share a custom template, any of your tenant’s child tenants inherit the template. If you don’t share the custom template, the child tenant inherits email templates from your current tenant’s parent tenant instead.
- Update the Subject field.
- In the Body field, edit the text.
You must surround variables in triple curly brackets, for example {{{variable}}}. If properly formatted, the variable displays in yellow text. For reference, a table of supported variables is displayed. You can scroll through the list to find the variable you want to use or use the search boxes at the top of the table columns to locate a variable. - Click Submit.
