When viewing an existing version of a flow, you will be in a "read only" state. Edits can not be made in this state.
Create a new version of the flow to make edits to the flow contents.
- Click on New Draft from the flow designer while viewing a published version
OR - Click on edit from the flow detail panel to open it in an edit mode
You can then make any edits, and publish the flow when ready.
Flow Designer automatically saves any changes made on the canvas. If a draft is closed before it is published, the contents will be included when you open that draft version.
Flow Designer will tell you when the draft was last saved with a "Last saved (time frame) ago" message next to Publish.
You can remove any element or a connection that you don't need or want to recreate for any reason.
- Open the flow in an edit mode to create a new draft.
- Click on the item once to select it.
- Hit the Delete key.
Deleting an element will also delete any connections made to or from it. - Close the draft or publish the new version.
You can move an element or connection to make the flow easier to view or navigate.
- Open the flow in an edit mode to create a new draft.
- Click on the item, holding down the mouse button.
- Drag the item to the desired location.
Moving an element will also move any connections made to or from it. - Close the draft or publish the new version.
You can add or update configuration details to elements or connections at any time.
- Open the flow in an edit mode to create a new draft.
- Click on the element or connection line to open the configuration panel.
- Add or edit fields as necessary.
- Close the draft or publish the new version.
The Flow Designer canvas provides more working space than what is initially viewable. You can get to other areas of the designer by panning the canvas window.
- Click in an empty section of the canvas in the general area that you want to pan towards, holding down the mouse button.
- Drag the mouse in the direction that you want to pull the canvas towards.
For example, to pan to the right you would click in the right side of the canvas and pull your mouse to the left.
This action provides you with more working space, and also allows you to get to items in the flow design that might be covered by a details panel.
